In a pot, bring water, butter, and a pinch of salt to a boil. Once boiling, add flour all at once, stirring vigorously until the dough forms a ball and pulls away from the sides.

Transfer the dough to a piping bag fitted with a star tip. Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 190°C (375°F). Pipe the dough into the hot oil, cutting with scissors to desired length.
